Who needs the Alps!

So it doesn't happen that often but when it does its incredible! Helen and I ventured up to Glen Shee, the forecast looked good and sunny and there was plenty of snow. We knew it was going to be busy so after an early start we got to the Shee buy 07:45 and I'm glad we did, we were on the slopes by 08:30 and then watched the car park get mental! A stunning day at Glen Shee.

Ski Tour

Had a quick ski tour with fred today before the weather turned really bad. We started just below the dam at Lochan Na Lairige and contoured round Beinn Ghlas heading through Sron Dha Mhurchaidh then onto Leaconn then to Caire a Channaidh where we got in a complete white out and headed back to the car as the winds picked up and blizzards started. Cracking few hours.

Getting ready just below the dam

First steep bit not far from the car

Looking South East when we could see the other side of Loch Tay

 Looking South west

Turning north, weather starting to close in

Skins off ready for the return journey

 There was a mountain there!

Flat light, ice patches in to deep snow, result.........Fred has garage sale!

More snow on the road out than when we drove up
