Keltney Burn

A little bit of fun on a wee burn. The upper bit is used commercially but the lower bit isn't and we found out why! There is an upper upper bit with a 4 km walk in but we shall save that for another day, but watch this space.

The First Drop unfortunately blocked

A view from above, we will come back with some tools and remove the tree

Getting in below the tree

Commitment fall, the commercial section ends above this fall, once your in this pool you are committed to the rest of the gorge

The first part of the next drop, horrible cauldron with shallow exit, we portaged and a good job..........

The portage, good rope work practice

Last bit of the portage back down to the river

The Portage from below. Note the tree on the right hand side of the photo, just right again 5 0r 6 more trees all mangled together!!!

I had 10 seconds to get from the camera down the rocks over the river and over to Andy, I was to late this time, must move faster.........

Made it this time

The Start of 2011

So with not much boating done in 2010, 2011 got off to a good start and with the move to Scotland things can only continue to get better.
Back in North Wales to catch up with friends we managed to get a social kayak on the Dee at Llangollen, everyone out of practice and carrying a little bit of winter weight we had a pleasant few hours in the sunshine
