Just back from the last Great Glen trip of the season for Wilderness Scotland, some brilliant weather and some excellent company. Until next year, see you then Great Glen.

Spey Expedition

A fantastic trip on the River Spey working for Wilderness Scotland, and the sun was shining..... well until the last day. But none the less a brilliant trip with a cracking group of people.

It finally happened, a dry Great Glen trip! And it happened supervising Fettes College on their Gold Duke Of Edinburgh's Award, all 20 students passed with flying colours, well done guys:)

Supervise

The past two weeks I have been supervising two successful Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award groups on the Great Glen. Both very different trips including and almost 10 degree temperature difference but still plenty of rain and sunshine.

Glen Lednock, Comrie

A satisfying but gentle walk with just one short, steep, demanding climb was the order of a humid afternoon. Starting from the 18th century weaving village of Comrie, which is in part an architectural conservation area, the first half of the walk is through a deep wooded glen, accompanied by the sound of tumbling waters and with small detours down to overviews of rapids and waterfalls. The way through the glen rises gently on to moorland before crossing over the river Lednock for the return journey through the pine carpeted, dark and silent forrest of Laggan Wood, hanging above the glen.
